Notice Dar Alhamra
Under Construction
We're hard at work on our site, which will combine timely articles, an extensive archive, our book catalogue and everything you need to know about socialism in the Arabian Peninsula.
About 01
Dar Alhamra is the Centre for Progressive Arabian Studies, an independent Marxist research centre and publisher. We document and study the progressive, socialist and revolutionary movements of Yemen, Oman and the wider Arabian Peninsula, from the national liberation struggles to the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen, and we treat that history with the seriousness and respect it deserves.
What’s coming 02
The site will bring this work together in one place: researched articles and analysis, political dossiers built on primary sources, a legal library of the laws of Democratic Yemen, a growing archive of documents, photographs and film, our book catalogue, and Hamra TV, our live channel. All of it in Arabic and English.
